Coffee Estate Homestays in Chikmagalur & Malnad

Stays set on working coffee estates across the Malnad belt — plantation walks at your doorstep, the smell of drying beans, and the quiet that only comes with acres of shade trees. Every one is personally inspected before it's listed.

What is a coffee estate homestay?

It's a stay on a working coffee plantation, where the estate itself is the experience — you can walk the rows, watch the harvest and drying in season, and drink coffee grown a few metres from your room. On Stayze it means a property we've genuinely confirmed sits on or within an estate, not just one that happens to be in coffee country.

Stayze currently lists 6 stays in this collection from ₹2,000 a night, each personally inspected.

About these stays

Why the Malnad belt

Chikkamagaluru is where coffee first came to India, and the hills around it — through Mudigere and down to Sakleshpur — are still largely plantation country. A stay here puts you inside that landscape rather than beside it: mist in the mornings, shade-grown Arabica and Robusta, and pepper vines climbing the taller trees.

What the season changes

The estate looks different through the year. The monsoon (June–September) is lush and loud with water; November to January brings the harvest and the drying yards; the dry months open up the trails and the long views. None of it is staged — it's a working farm you're staying on.

Questions

Before you book

What can guests expect from a coffee plantation stay?

Estate walks, home-cooked Malnad food, and genuine quiet. Exactly which of these each property offers is listed on its own page — check the stay before you book.

Which areas are known for coffee estate stays?

In our inventory, Chikkamagaluru and Mudigere carry most of the estate stays, with plantation country continuing into the Sakleshpur belt. Each stay below shows its own locality.

Is the coffee actually grown there?

For every stay in this collection, yes — we only tag a property as a coffee estate stay when it genuinely sits on or within a plantation, never just because it's in the region.
